On November 22, 2017, YFA's Citrus County Foster Care and Adoption Case Management  Program celebrated National Adoption Day with many of our partners, including  Kids Central Inc.  A total of seven children legally became part of their "forever families" during this event.

According to the Citrus County Chronicle, YFA Chief Operating Officer, John Luff stated, "adoption events give YFA’s case managers and other child advocates an opportunity to see how their work affects a generation. We deal with a lot of families who go through  heartache and trauma along the way, but today’s about celebrating new life and togetherness." You may see the article, "Forever families have reason to give thanks," by Buster Thompson in full by clicking here.

Last year, YFA programs across West Central Florida helped to ensure some 366 children and youth found their "forever families."   Since 2005, our adoptions programs have participated in the adoption of over 2,700 children and youth.

Our programs have many special need children who are available for adoption.  You may see some of these children and youth through our partners'  Adoption Spots,  Heart Gallery of Sarasota,  and Pinellas-Pasco Heart Gallery.

According to their website, "National Adoption Day is a collective national effort to raise awareness of the more than 110,000 children in foster care waiting to find permanent, loving families. A coalition of national partners – Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, The Alliance for Children’s Rights and Children’s Action Network – sponsor National Adoption Day."
