Take Stock in Children’s Mentor of the Year: Take Stock in Children, a Pasco Education Foundation program that provides scholarships, mentors and hope to at-risk Pasco County high school students, announced that Mark Wickham was the 2017 Mentor of the Year during the recent ‘20 Years Together’ event. The event celebrated the 20th anniversary of the foundation’s acceptance of Take Stock in Children in Pasco. Wickham joined Take Stock as a mentor in 2015. He is president/CEO at Youth and Family Alternatives in Pasco County. Semifinalists for the award included Claudia Alwood, Cheryl Ohls and Elle Paladine. ‘Mentors are the most important contributing factor adding to the unprecedented success of the (Take Stock) student. Mr. Wickham’s above-and-beyond dedication, loyalty and passion are appreciated beyond words,’ said Rosanne Heyser, Take Stock executive director.
