Reunification is a short-term diversion program that provides home-based and solution-focused intervention to prevent the removal of children from their home and to strengthen the family in order to prevent the occurrence or re-occurrence of child abuse and neglect. Family Counselors and Parent Aides focus on identifying and reducing risk factors in order to strengthen and improve parenting ability and family life.

Parent Aide staff work closely with parents to enhance their knowledge and ability in homemaking and housekeeping, life skills training for daily living, parent coaching, and modeling.

Referrals to Family Preservation and Reunification come directly from Child Protective Investigators through the Child Protective Investigations Units in Pasco and Polk Counties.
