We believe in investing in our children

Since its founding in 1970, YFA has served over 225,000 at risk children and families through its runaway and youth crisis services, substance abuse prevention and intervention programs, and foster care and adoption services. A substantial source of our funding comes from state and federal sources, but these sources are not enough to provide the full scope of services that are needed by the children and families we serve.  Private contributions go a long way in helping to meet the needs of those we serve.

Youth and Family Alternatives, Inc. is grateful for the generous support of those who contribute resources to the organization including those who contribute dollars to strengthen our services, those who give their time through volunteering in our programs, and those who open their homes and their hearts by being a foster or adoptive parent.

For over 47 years, YFA is fortunate to have the generous support of individuals in the community, as well as, foundations, corporations and its partnership with the United Way, and you can too.  A donation works best when it is not designated, covering a myriad of operating expenses. However, YFA welcomes your designated gift to a particular program, or a service for which you have a special affinity.  In some cases, for example, a donor may wish to sponsor a child, or family, or purchase the cost of one shelter bed for a child for a given period, or purchase school supplies for a child in need.  YFA will gladly accommodate your specific donor request.
